I've already mentally told myself that my next marathon is on June 4, 2006 — the San Diego Rock 'n Roll marathon. I haven't actually registered as I missed the “cheap registration fee” cut-off date, but my sis is going to register for me when she does the Nashville, TN 1/2 Marathon in April (she's gonna get a discount there since it's the same organisation that puts these marathons together). Anyway, I've psyched myself and everything and I know I should've checked earlier but after pondering today, I decided that it was time to look up a training programme.
I'll be using Hal Higdon's Novice marathon training timetable… again. I've used it once and had I stuck to it, I would've felt better during my Chicago marathon.
Anyway, I've penned all the runs on my calendar (I started scribbling on raceday itself and worked my way backwards) and as I got closer to the current date, reality sunk in — oh shyte — I've already missed a *week* of training… >_<
I've sorta done, er, physical activity… Snowboarding, road-boarding (sorta)… Crap. Time to jumpstart my training… I need to run 7 miles tomorroz and it's almost 12 midnight. I'll prolly start off with a 3 mile run. I just have to stick to this timetable! Seriously this time…
