A month ago, Sheryl and I were discussing over IM how it would be soooo cool to track peoples’ heartrates in-real-time and online. How this technology can help the elderly (i.e., keep track of their heart beat), or perhaps help others who need that little push if they’ve been just sitting about. Well, as usual, this idea was already thought of by someone else… Sorry of my life. >_<
Check this article out. It’s a great concept: A wireless body monitor that keeps track of the person’s heartrate and whether they’ve been sedentary! The device has an accelerometer, a heart rate monitor, a GPS device and a sensor that measures the electrical conductivity of skin. All the data is relayed to a Nokia phone, which then transmits it to a secure server. Can you imagine a ADT adding this to your home security plan? Or your friend texting you cos they know you’ve been sitting on your arse the entire day? LOL.
Gotta move on to the next idea!
