As planned (and as encouraged by Sheryl), I went for a bike ride in lieu of my scheduled 20-mile run today. By the time I reached the 5 mile mark, I was around 00:36 in and thought that if I just did 10, then it would not really “translate” to what I should’ve been doing. That and I knew I had to wait for sis to finish her 20 miler…
Though my sis ended up doing 15 miles, I did double that which now I think I shouldn’t have! LOL. The muscles just above my knees are soooo sore and I’m about to pass out (didn’t get to nap this afternoon). Still, I learned how to switch gears on my bike today and tried to keep a fairly steady cadence… Sort of.
Oh, I’m sooooo glad my old-skool Garmin Forerunner 201 can now be detected by the Garmin Training Center software! wOOt! Check out the data captured by my Forerunner 201 (distance, speed, elevation, location) and what my Forerunner 50 (heart-rate & cadence) reported.
Or if you’re too lazy to click on the links, here’s a summary of that data in plain text:
Time: 02:39:47
Distance: 30.03 mi
Elevation Gain: 22 ft
Calories: 874 C
Avg Speed: 11.3 mph
Max Speed: 16.0 mph
Average HR: 155 bpm
Max HR: 176 bpm
Average Bike Cadence: 69 rpm
Max Bike Cadence: 100 rpm
I’ll most likely do some P90X (stretching or yoga) tomorrow and then get back to lap swimming on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. With any luck (and some glucosamine supplement every day), I’ll be ready for another 20 miler on the 7th of March.
