I literally had NO free weekends in May. Not that I was complaining since it was one fun weekend after the other. Since I haven’t posted in a bit, thought I’d post a little recap… for posterity π
1st weekend in May
Got into those Hydrostatic body fat testing tanks! Found out that skipping meals or not having a meal schedule meant that my body will retain MORE fat than muscle. So despite my relatively “healthy” weight at that time, the percentages for muscle vs. fat were skewed because of my bad eating habits. So yeah, I gotta work on eating my meals at the same time each day, or at least having the snacks in-between so that my blood sugar level doesn’t go all rollercoaster on me. π
On Mothers’ Day, since my parents were still out-of-town, it meant I had no prior obligations and thus, spent it at Disneyland with some of my fellow Chelsea (FC) Chicks. π Had loads of fun, despite the long queues for the rides and got a chuckle out of seeing the “Bat Day” people (i.e., Goths at Disneyland!)
Weight gained: nill.
2nd weekend in May
On Friday, I brought my parents to the annual OLG Church Fiesta where we had one-too-many carne asada tacos and churros. π We tend to go during the weekend but seeing as we were going to be in San Francisco, we managed to squeeze in the OLG Fiesta into our schedules. π Saturday & Sunday were spent up norf, for the Bay to Breakers 12k footrace (which you’ll find the race report somewhere on my journal) Oh, back to my church’s fiesta: I found out that my raffle lucky number 666 finally won! Just $200 but I’ll take it π
Weight gained: ~2lbs.
3rd weekend in May
My littlest brother graduated this year and our entire family (+ my other bro’s SO) went down to San Diego to see him receive his diploma. It was a touching moment and I have to admit I wanted to cry at the beginning of the ceremony when they played the graduation march during the entrance procession… I held it in, of course, but found out later my sis, Annelle, had the same experience! LOL We’re such sappy sisters! Congrats, little bro!! Oh, I ate too much on both days. >_<
Weight gained: ~3lbs O_o
Last weekend in May
I can’t talk much about what happened the last weekend in May much less post any photos OR videos. It was a friends’ bachelorette weekend. It’s like Fight Club but with less bruises. Rule of Bachelorette Weekend: You don’t talk about the Bachelorette Weekend. Bwahahaha. All I can say is I had LOADS of fun. That, and Limoncello trumps Orangecello. That’s all. Er, I hope I don’t get beat up over that. >_<
Weight gained: ~5lbs (seriously, I weighed myself at the hotel spa).
So why keep track of my weight gain? It may look like I’ve just gained “vanity” pounds but with my impending obstacle-course 10k (Mud Run @ Camp Pendleton, June 11th) and then super-sprint tri (June 12th @ Redondo Beach), and then Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 Marathon (June 25th @ Seattle, WA), I can’t really afford to let go as I have the past year… I want to at least get decent times in the triathlon and the half-marathon events! For the mudrun, I just don’t wanna be the dead weight on the team ;). Plus, I don’t want to undo all the work I’ve done since August with tracking my calories and such! OK, Vanity alert: I also still wanna fit in my Bridesmaid dress purchased in May by October for Sheryl’s wedding! Hahahaha. Ok, nevermind; I am vain. >_<
Anyway… onto June (where I have at least one spare weekend of nothingness :))
