Cross-Training (40 minutes)

Notes:
I was supposed to do a bike ride today but didn’t have time to set up the bike rack for the truck! Ahhh. So I decided to go lap swimming. It went amazingly well! I did these drills (see below) and I thought they’d be tough but it was definitely manageable. I guess when you have a “goal”, even in the water, it makes for a better workout. I deffo have to go bike riding tomorrow, though.

Here’re the drills I found online:

5 x 50 (15 sec rest in between) Freestyle – “Thumb to Thigh”
5 x 50 (15 sec rest in between) Freestyle – “Touch and Go”
5 x 50 (15 sec rest in between) Freestyle – “Closed Fist”

The “Touch and Go” was rather tough; you’re supposed to touch your outstretched hand with the hand that just did the stroke before that outstretched hand can proceed with the stroke! It deffo messed with my breathing and rhythm and I still have to work on it. The “Closed Fist” was not too bad — I thought this would be the drill that would really test me but I was gliding through (sort of).

Again, it was a good workout and I will deffo do these drills when I go swim again.
