I started to paint the board! w00t! After a few days of sanding and other preparations, I actually started painting the board… white. So I'm just starting off with the base/background colour and the actual painting of design hasn't really taken place but I'm getting there. I also modified the design a bit, so instead of barewood showing around the design, it'll all have a solid white background.
Anyway, even with just the acrylic paint, it was difficult to get the brush strokes even! I realised after that that I hadn't worked with acrylic/oil paints and brushes in ages! So yah, the brush felt totally foreign to me. I'm probably going to have to practice some cardboard so that I can get some nice brush strokes and proper blending or summat like that. ^_^
