This post was inspired by @weim.i.so.cute ‘s Weim Story.My Weim story began when my sis and big bro (in law) would invite me to watch their boys. We always had small dogs growing up, so when Hendrix and Kingston were barely 5 months old, they were already the size of the fully grown puppers of my childhood. They were both big babies though!My sis and bro made sure both were well-behaved before we could take care of them; some instances only a few days at a time, then a month to a month and a half, and then nearly a year last year when they were relocating to a new state.That’s when I really fell in love with both, ok maybe Kingston a bit more since we’d go for Rucks, trail runs, and general shenanigans. Weims are so intelligent, regal, and yet goofy. To me, they’re quite expressive and have that “RWF” (Resting Weim Face) that will melt your heart.When my sis said that her boys were finally moving back with her and my big bro — to take them across the country, I was heartbroken. I legit would cry over the phone on her weekly FaceTime with her boys She would remind me that she, too, missed them and can’t wait for their reunion. She also said I should get my own doggo 🤣I began looking at Weimaraner rescues and found two within driving distance (like, around 500mi) but both organizations didn’t allow out-of-state applicants (they wanted to do in-person, in-house inspections amongst other requirements). I had already lost hope of having my own Weim when by chance (definitely good fortune!) an IG account I follow had announced that they still had 3 boy Weimaraner puppies left who needed forever homes.I was slightly apprehensive at the thought of a puppy (we always had rescued young dogs, but not puppeh), but contacted @weim.i.so.cute anyway and the rest is history — Jen and her family LOVE Weims so much, they have 4 Less than 3 months later, at 9 weeks old, I picked up Sterling in beautiful & serene Windsor, CO and drove back with my good friend @kirstenonthego to fabulous Las Vegas!
